Who Am I
My name is Robert Long, and I am a multifaceted techno-wizard, jack-of-all-trades. I have a diverse background, made from experiences spanning across the country. From being a chef at fine-dining restaurants in Savannah, Georgia, to black-smithing in the back alley forges of Seattle, Washington. For the last five years I have been living in New York City. Working as an Office Manager, Designer, and Freelance IT Consultant.
Most of my life has been focused on cooking, which I did professionally for around a decade. However, technology has been a big interest and influence to me my entire life. I built my first computer when I was 9 years old, a nice little 486 which I used to play Doom, and Descent on with my older brother.
What are my interests
I am constantly cooking at home trying new dishes, and experiments. When I’m not busy in the kitchen I spend a majority of my time learning, and working with computers. I am working on rounding out my Web Development knowledge, as well as my Digital Design skills.
I also have a fascination with origami and puzzles, and have also been known to dabble in playing various instruments
What are my goals
Currently I am working as a Freelance IT Consultant. And it is my main goal to get hired working for a SMB where I can carve out my own position which allows me to meld both of my Administrative, and Programming backgrounds. I believe that everybody inherently wants to learn, and be empowered by their understanding of things, and professionally it is my goal to use that ideal-set to cultivate better relationships with clients and peers. I enjoy teaching others who are legitimately interested in learning new things like I am.
